On Christmas Eve 2023, we closed our membership to new members, and didn’t open it again until February 2024.
Every year, there is a stampede of people with good intentions ready to make health and fitness a real part of their lifestyle. Gyms are flooded with new members, for 3-4 weeks, then before long, its back to normal.
Most people set out in January to achieve all their goals in a matter of weeks. Trying to undo months or years of unhealthy living in a short space of time. They go from doing no regular exercise at all, to going to the gym 5 times a week.
They go from an living an unhealthy lifestyle, to trying to live a super-clean healthy lifestyle. They go from being un-active, to trying to be very active.
The body simply can’t cope with such rapid changes, and after only a few weeks, it just becomes way too tough. Excuses begin to set in, and then its game over until next January.
There is a right way, and lots of wrong ways to approach health and fitness, and most people approach fitness all wrong.
