Welcome! We’re so glad you’re joining Maxx Life.
Before you register, we want to make sure Maxx Life feels like the right fit for you.
The Maxx Life Environment
Maxx Life is different from traditional gyms. There are many “normal” gym practices that happen in almost every gym up and down the country, that for us, can put many people off joining a gym, and even hating gyms.
People standing looking in mirrors admiring themselves, people in skimpy clothing making it awkward for the other people around them, people grunting when lifting weights, or dropping heavy weights loudly, or groups of young people hogging equipment, or people videoing workouts making others few awkward working out nearby. Or even gym staff running around videoing everyone working out. All these “normal” gym practices create a vibe that we really don’t want at Maxx Life.
We’ve created an enjoyable workout space that is family friendly where members are welcome to bring their children along while they work out. It’s all part of the warm, inclusive atmosphere we’re proud of. If you’d prefer a more Instagram like, adults-only training environment, Maxx Life would not be the best match — and that’s okay. Finding the right gym for your needs is important.
Our goal is to provide a relaxed, non-intimidating space where members can focus on feeling good, building healthy habits, and enjoying exercise. For many people, the social side of the gym is just as valuable as the physical benefits, and we encourage a positive, respectful environment for everyone.
Dress Code
We do operate a dress code at Maxx Life to help maintain the comfortable, family-friendly feel of our space. Please review the images below before continuing with your registration.
For men, we don’t permit wearing vest tops, to help prevent the whole standing in mirrors checking out muscles. Not our vibe.
For women, we ask for t-shirts and vest tops only.
Local team sports wear is fine, including GAA, Rugby and other sports. Celtic and Rangers tops are not permitted as can cause offence for some people.
Please do not wear any clothing that may cause offence to anyone.
Competitive Training
Maxx Life does not cater for competitive training, bodybuilding, or heavy lifting. To ensure the best experience for all members, our maximum load is 60kg of plates on barbells and hex bars during peak hours and 100kg of plates during off-peak times.
Mobile Phone Use
At Maxx Life, we aim to create a respectful, enjoyable training environment where all members can make the most of their time in the gym. Being mindful of how equipment is used helps ensure everyone has a smooth workout experience.
Spending extended time on your phone while sitting on equipment can prevent others from accessing it. If you need to quickly log your weights, check your workout plan, or watch a form video, that’s absolutely fine. However, scrolling social media or messaging for longer periods while occupying equipment is not permitted.
If you need to use your phone for more than a few moments, please step away from the equipment so another member can train.
To protect the privacy and comfort of our members, recording workouts is not permitted. We want everyone to feel relaxed and able to train without worrying about being captured in the background of photos or videos.
Our guidelines are in place to help Maxx Life remain a comfortable, community-focused space — free from common gym frustrations like equipment being unnecessarily occupied or workout filming. We encourage all members to stay aware of their surroundings and be considerate of others training nearby.
